Marketing: Back to basics

There will be fields that require quantity, continuity and regularity if you don’t want the world to cruelly forget you. But there are also many fields that require quality, investment and depth, which may not need continuity or regularity. And there will always be a place for you.

Over the past year, I have limited my Facebook interactions. In addition to being busy and lazy, I also wanted to experiment - with the test subject being myself or specifically LINHDAM.CO.

Instead of focusing on the 4th P "Promotion" (Please understand Promotion in its broad sense as promotion instead of just promotion) - after all, that is my "job", should I try to do the opposite:

Focus on the first P "Product" - and reduce the fourth P "Promotion" to a minimum?

Result: The past year can be considered the most creative period for Linhdam.Co as well as myself. In contrast to “no one will know if you don’t spread it”, career opportunities, interesting collaborative projects, quality relationships like meaningful relationships, somehow come to me or with existing opportunities and relationships that are also nurtured in a profound way – everything converges almost at the same time.

And instead of spreading Linhdam.Co’s interests to many fields, I condensed Linhdam.Co to the maximum with three main topics: Marketing – Art – Life.

That was also the time when I launched “WHAT MATTERS” – a project that I am proud of.

We often talk about, 2023, marketing 5.0 and in the current world of information surplus, we need to try to “sneak” into that network continuously, persistently and regularly. Otherwise, our chance of competing is 0. Let Linh add to this point of view. Yes - and no.

There will be areas that require quantity, continuity and regularity if you don't want the world to cruelly forget you. But there are also many areas that require quality, investment and depth, maybe not continuity or regularity. And there will always be a place - for you.

From someone who has done marketing for both big/small brands and individuals for many years, if there is something Linh wants to share with you - it is this.

Never forget to focus on the product. Yes, never ignore the first P. It comes first, because it is too important to care about after any other factor.

PRODUCT!

Linh once mentioned about going back to basics a year ago, in the article "Marketers, go back to basics", with general approaches, Linh hopes that you also have suggestions for doing marketing in an interesting and complicated time like now. But in this WM Ep 23 version, Linh wants to focus more on the story: Product.

A good product, supported by a suitable price, a strong distribution system, combined with an excellent Marketing roadmap, the result you can probably predict.

Apple. Nike. Tesla. Netflix… perhaps Linh doesn't need to list more.

Taylor Swift. Lady Gaga. Miley Cyrus. Cillian Murphy. Margot Robbie…

What did they start with, if not excellent products and a great story?

And that will also be the reason, at Linhdam.Co, my first priority will also be to focus on the product: Quality content, especially with the Series "WHAT MATTERS" - which has been published for 22 issues after half a year, for 30,000 readers; Quality advice; Content products for partners and customers that are seriously invested in; Careful and responsible training products.
